Evdokia Alexeevna Petrova (1914-2002) was a junior officer in the Soviet Unionís intelligence service. In 1951 she and her husband were posted to the Soviet Embassy in Canberra. After he defected in 1954, she initially preferred to return home to avoid reprisals against her family but reluctantly changed her mind at Darwin airport and was dramatically removed from Soviet custody.
